The Governor's School for Government and International Studies Foundation, Inc.
The Governor’s School for Government and International Studies Foundation, Inc is a 501(c) (3) organization, which was established in 1992 and reorganized in 1998. The purpose of the Foundation is to advance the interests and goals of the school. Since the time of reorganization, it has coordinated the preparation of grant proposals, which have raised over $100,000 for programmatic support and technology. The foundation also conducts an annual fund drive. Monies raised are used to support activities of the faculty and students of Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School and to expand fund raising efforts. A major effort this year is to update alumni information and with the goal of creating an Alumni Directory.
The Foundation is housed in room 227 at the school. Office hours are Monday through Thursday 9:00 to 12:00 and by appointment. The Foundation telephone number is (804) 354-1566.
